ENEDINA L. MORENO ALAMO – Enedina Longoria Moreno traveled to her final destination to be reunited with loved ones on December 7, 2014, at the age of 90, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on October 2, 1924 in Cuevitas, Texas to Manuel Mendiola Longoria and Timotea Rivas Flores. During the late 1920’s, the family moved to Alamo, where her parents were pioneer members of the community. Enedina married Pascual Moreno in 1950 and had resided in Alamo until she became a resident of San Juan Nursing Home four years ago. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima and Resurrection Catholic Church. Her Catholic faith was strong and she served her church and the Lord by being a member of the choir, lector, Eucharist minister, Guadalupanas, and one of the first members of the United in Faith movement. Enedina, also worked at Alamo Fruit for many years, and was a housewife. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Pascual Moreno; her parents; a sister, Beatrice Longoria Herrera; and a brother, Francisco Longoria. Enedina is survived by five daughters, Josefina (Arturo) Diaz, Ida (Santos, Sr.) Vallejo, Gloria (Celso, Jr.) Alvarado, Maria (Matthew) Kennedy, and Adelina (George) Adams; one son, Humberto Moreno; 14 grandchildren, Santos (Annie) Vallejo, Jr.,Kristina T. (Felix) Rodriguez, Marcos (Jackie) Vallejo, Celso Pablo (Maricela) Alvarado, Erik G. (Connie) Alvarado, Cynthia (Robbie) McDonald, Sherry (Jerry) Maddox, Vanessa Moreno, Bianca Moreno, Christian Moreno, Angel Rey Moreno, Albert Espinoza,Jr., Joel Valera, and Nicholas Patino; and 12 great-grandchildren, Sofia, Gracie, and Stevie Vallejo, Eva and Felix Rodriguez, Jr., Adelaide Vallejo, Matthew and Summer Alvarado, Sammy Garcia, Jr., Katy Moreno and A.J. Espinoza. Pallbearers will be, Santos Vallejo, Jr., Marcos Vallejo, Celso Pablo Alvarado, Erik G. Alvarado, Joel Valera and Sammy Garcia. “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 Mami, you taught us right from wrong and you were always there for us; we are saddened by your loss, but we know that your suffering has ended, for that we are rejoicing. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, December 8, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
