Ramon Moreno Sr.

RAMON MORENO, SR. LA BLANCA – Ramon Moreno, Sr., 84, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at his residence in La Blanca. Born in Donna, Mr. Moreno had lived in La Blanca all of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict Era. Ramon was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Humane Conduct Medal, European Occupation Medal, and was a proud member of VFW Post 7473 of Elsa. He is preceded in death by his parents, Candelario and Higinia Moreno. Mr. Moreno is survived by his wife, Herminia Moreno of La Blanca; three sons, Isaias (Maria) Moreno of Rankin, TX, Adan (Alma) Moreno, Ramon (Sylvia) Moreno, both of Edinburg; four daughters, Isabel (Jesus) Saucedo of Killeen, TX, Eva Moreno of La Blanca, Elva (Luis) Garza of Beeville, TX , Aurora (Gerardo) Alvarez of Edinburg; 25 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursda, May 21, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2015, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
