Naomi Jean Morton

January 8, 1944 — July 26, 2015

Naomi Jean Morton, 71, “Miss Healing Hands”, went to her Eternal Rest on July 26, 2015 after a brief illness. Licensed in 1986 and respected as one of the finest registered Massage Therapists and Instructors in her generation, she was one of the first to be “grandfathered” into formal registration in Texas. She also served on the Advisory Council to the Texas Department of Health. She aided others with her gift for over 40 years, using her hands to bring relief and healing into clients’ lives. She started the School of Natural Therapy in McAllen, Texas (first of its kind in the region) in hopes of giving people in the RGV a life skill and spreading the knowledge of touch/massage therapy. Naomi pioneered educational programs which trained over 2 generations of massage therapists, shining light into the lives of her students and staff. She is survived by 5 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews. Naomi was a devoted Christian. An active member & Board Trustee of Unity of the Valley, she will be honored with a “Celebration of Life” service there on August 15, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. (301 E. Polk Ave., Pharr, TX). *In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity of the Valley or Infinite Love.
