FLOYD MOSS
EDINBURG – Another loss of a WWII Veteran, Floyd Moss, 91, passed away, Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at McAllen Medical Center. All Veterans and community are welcomed to pay their final respects.
Born and raised in Richmond, MO, Floyd lived in Los Angeles, CA for many years and had lived in Edinburg his remaining years. A veteran of WWII, he served in the USS Elmore with the United States Navy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Orin and Mary Irene Moss; a daughter, Tammy Alter; and a grandson, Kyle Alter.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Matilda Moss; his twin brother, Lloyd (Helen) Moss; a sister, Helen Mansell; two sons, Gary W. (Leigh A.) Moss, Steve Moss (Susan Sears); the mother of his children, Mary Moss; three step-sons, Gilbert, Ricky and Raymond (Minnie) Salas; and two step-daughters, Janine, and Cynthia Salas; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Terry Alter; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 8 to 10 a.m., with a 9:30 a.m. chapel service Friday, June 23, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
