ATHENA MOYA
SAN JUAN - Athena Moya, 31, has gone to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.
Born in McAllen, Athena had lived in San Juan all of her life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Guadalupe and Cruz Almanza; and paternal grandparents, Senon O. Moya and Olivia Vale.
Athena is survived by her two children, Victoria Athena Moreno and Christian Joseph Moreno; her parents, Adolfo V. Moya and Irene A. Moya; a brother, Adolfo Moya Jr., all of San Juan; and many aunts, uncles and cousins that loved her very much.
Athena has touched the lives of many. She will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, February 18, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Saturday, February 19, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Senon Moya Jr., LeeRoy Moya, Rodolfo Moya Jr., Robert Moya, Robert Espericueta and Juan Manuel Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be Eulalio Rodriguez and Jorge Moya.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
