IRMA CAROLINA MUNOZ
SAN JUAN - Irma Carolina Cano de Munoz went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 6, 2010, surrounded by her family at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Munoz was born May 16, 1923 to Amado and Agripina Cano in Reynosa, Mexico. She had lived in San Juan most of her life and was a member of Church at Bethany in Alamo.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilberto J. Munoz; her brothers, Manuel Cano and Amado Cano, Jr.
Irma is survived by her son, Gilberto (Karen) Munoz, Jr., of Alamo; her daughter, Imelda (Weldon) Jones, Sr., of McAllen; three grandchildren, Tawnia L. (Pete) Martinez, Weldon Jones, Jr., both of McAllen, and Candice J. Munoz, of Austin; three great-grandchildren, Destinee Jones, Darian and Derek Martinez; two sisters, Sofia C. (Rufino) Garza, of San Juan and Belen (+Onesimo) Perez, of Edinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Christian viewing will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm prayer service, today, January 7, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Friday, January 8, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Christian burial will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
Irma was the rock of her family. We are thankful to our Lord for blessing us with her. She will be dearly missed and she will always remain in our hearts.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
