RUTH E. MURTAUGH
MCALLEN – Ruth E. Murtaugh, 94, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at The Gardens at Brook Ridge in Pharr.
Born in London, England, Ruth came to the US as a war bride after the war in which her first two husbands were killed. She served in The Women’s Royal Air Force during World War II.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Johns Murtaugh; a son, Donald David Murtaugh; a sister, Freda Tubbs; and a brother, Joe Larman.
She is survived by four daughters, Freda Levya of Macon, GA, Pat Evetts of Kingsburg, TX, Debbie Rayl of Port Mansfield, TX, Michelle Kirby of Magnolia, TX; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Entombment of cremated remains will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
