Hiram Ochoa Sr.

HIRAM OCHOA, SR. McALLEN - Hiram Ochoa Sr., 81, died Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Alfredo Gonzales Texas State Veterans Home in McAllen. Born in Weslaco, Mr. Ochoa had lived in McAllen most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was employed by The Monitor for many years. He is preceded in death by a son, Hiram Ochoa Jr.; his parents, Nicholas Sr. and Elida Ochoa; two brothers, Nicholas Jr. and Ronnie Ochoa; and a sister, Irma Molina. Mr. Ochoa is survived by his wife, Olivia M. Ochoa, of McAllen; four children, Ivan G. (Norma) Ochoa, of McAllen, Cindy Ochoa (J. Kyle) Mathews, of Plano, Jaime J. (Velma) Ochoa, of Edinburg, Rudy R. (Rosie) Ochoa, of McAllen; six grandchildren, Gabriel, Israel, Jeanine, Jordan, Dominique, Jonathan; and three great-grandchildren, Adonis, Brianna and Bridgette. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, January 13, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
