GRACIELA DE LEON OLABARRIETA
PHARR - Graciela De Leon Olabarrieta
"Find your light, turn it on, and shine it down on everyone." -Peter Frampton
Okay, okay. This is not the traditional obituary one typically reads, but nevertheless, it is. It's my version. Can you see the joy on my face? I'm still smiling! I'm totally bald underneath that helmet, but who cares. I felt so alive and joyful to be out on the road with my band of biker brothers and sisters. Don't feel sad for me. Remember my smile because you too can attain joy in the midst of heartaches, illnesses, and suffering.
Looking at life's challenges can be exhausting and scary, but seeing them with a positive frame of mind is so much more fulfilling. Trust me, there will be plenty of setbacks as well as fabulous joy on the journey of life. I suggest that you create a list of things you want to do and places to visit and act on it. Don't wait or put it off until sometime in the future. Make tomorrow your today. Do it now. Live in the moment!
Positivity is a choice. And living with joy is also a choice. Tell the people you love that you love them and tell them often. And if for some reason you cross paths with someone you don't particularly care for, keep your comments and thoughts to yourself; negativity eventually destroys your joy.
Don't be afraid to experience life's ups and downs with your family and friends. Ultimately they will get you through your darkest moments, but also be witnesses to your brightest ones too. So choose your friends wisely and invite them to join you and your family on your life journey. They ARE family. And family is EVERYTHING!
So, my tomorrow has come to visit me today and my light has been extinguished. Yes, your today has started without me and that's good. It was time for me to go. Be joyful, for I'm no longer in pain. Yes, I'm gone, but hopefully not forgotten. May your thoughts of me always make you smile. Until we meet again...happy trails!
Gracie
