JUAN OLIVA
EDINBURG – Juan Oliva, 83, died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at his residence in Edinburg.
Formerly of Pharr, Mr. Oliva was born in Mercedes and had lived in Edinburg most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nazario and Geronima Oliva; a son, Juan Oliva Jr.; a daughter, Elizabeth Oliva; a brother, Adrian Oliva and a sister, Maria Grahm.
Mr. Oliva is survived by his wife, Maria Irene Oliva of Edinburg; six children, San Juana (Hernan) Acosta, Rosalinda (Albert) Rios; Ester Oliva, Ana (Armando Rivera) Oliva, all of Edinburg, Maria Adriana Oliva of Phoenix, Arizona and Daisy Garza of San Antonio, Texas; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers, Ramiro Oliva of Nyssa, Oregon and Hector Oliva of Pharr; and a sister, Irene Jimenez of Nyssa, Oregon.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm prayer service today, April 2, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
