EDINBURG - Cruz Jose Olivarez Jr., 65, was received by the Lord Saturday, November 5, 2011, at his residence in Edinburg.
Born in Madero, Texas, Mr. Olivarez had lived in Edinburg all of his life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was employed by International Paper Co. for 34 years.
Mr. Olivarez is survived by his wife, Teodora Olivarez; five children, Benjamin Isaac Olivarez, Belinda Olivarez, Cruz Jose Olivarez III, Alina Olivarez, Esmeralda Olivarez, all of Edinburg; 15 grandchildren; and seven siblings, Hortencia Olivarez, of McAllen, Berta Trevino, Leonel Olivarez, both of Edinburg, Ismelda Ortiz, of Michigan, Dominga Valdez, of Washington, Macario Saenz, of Alamo and Reyes Saenz, of San Juan.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, November 7, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home , 208 E. Canton in Edinburg.
