Jose R. Olmos
EDINBURG – Jose R. Olmos, 90, died Sunday, January 2, 2011, at his residence in Edinburg.
Born in Vera Cruz Mexico, Mr. Olmos formerly from Houston, Texas and had lived in Edinburg since 1980. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. God gave us a father who enjoyed life to the fullest a Man of high standards in education not only for him but for his children. He enjoyed writing poems about life's journey of ups and downs.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Elena O. Garcia; his parents, Eusebio and Pilar Olmos; four brothers, Eusebio Jr., Jaime, Maximo, Daniel Olmos; a son-in-law, Noie Hesbrook, Jr; and a sister, Esther Olmos.
Mr. Olmos is survived by his wife of 62 years, Epifania Franco Olmos of Edinburg; a son, Jose Reyes (Rosemary) Olmos, Jr. of Houston, Texas; four daughters, Esmeralda O. (Guadalupe) Gonzalez, of Houston, Texas, Estela O. Hesbrook, of Edinburg, Esther O. (Richard) Trigo, of Houston, Texas, Eva O. (Norman) Gross, of Hanover, Maryland; 17 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 pm with a 7 pm rosary today, January 6, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 am Friday, January 7, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Edinburg. Cremation will take place at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
