ORALIA B. VALDEZ
EDINBURG – Oralia B. Valdez, 91, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024, at her residence in Edinburg.
Mrs. Valdez was a devout Catholic who was an active member of the Legion de Maria – Espanol for over five years and served as Treasurer. For the last three years she was an auxiliary member of the Legion De Maria – Espanol and was also an honorary member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church Altar Society and Guadalupana honorary member.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eulogio and Balbina R. Bazaldua; four siblings, Francisco Bazaldua, Hortencia Bazaldua de Franco, Guadalupe Bazaldua de Balderas, and Anita Bazaldua.
Mrs. Valdez is survived by her husband, Jose N. Valdez; three children, Norma Valdez (Michael) de Olivarez, Sonia (Moises Llanes) Valdez, Jose Noe (Monica) Valdez; four grandchildren, Jose Manuel (Araceli) Olivares, Diego Miguel Olivares, Angela Llanes, Sophia Llanes; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Olivares, Hailey Olivares; three siblings, Rodolfo Bazaldua, Elvia Bazaldua de Alaniz, and Ninfa Bazaldua.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
