DIANA ORTIZ PHARR – Diana Ortiz, 51, died Sunday, August 19, 2012, at her residence in Pharr. Ms. Ortiz was born in San Juan and lived in Pharr most of her life. Diana was a graduate of PSJA High School. She went on to pursue her career in Criminal Justice at UTPA, she then attended the Border Patrol Academy in Georgia, upon becoming a Border Patrol Agent she worked for the Tucson Sector, Uvalde, Carrizo Springs Station and San Antonio Sector. She is preceded in death by her father, Jose Ortiz. Diana is survived by her mother, Perfecta Ortiz of Pharr; eight siblings, Alfredo (Rosie) Ortiz, Irma (Robert Villarreal) Ortiz, Rosaura (Antonio Martin) Quintero, Jorge A. Ortiz, Jose L. Ortiz, Enedina Ortiz, Rosario Ortiz, and Maggie Ramos; dog, Spanky Ortiz; five nieces and nephews, Erica (Devon) Edwards, Freddy Ortiz, and Eduardo J. (Vicky) Corpus, Ana Victoria Quintero, and Jose Osvaldo Quintero; four grandnephews, Darius J. Edwards, Mark, Edward, and Ethan Corpus. A prayer service was held Monday, August 20, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today, August 21, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Border Patrol Honor Guard. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
