GUADALUPE ORTIZ
SAN JUAN –Guadalupe Ortiz, 71, entered eternal rest Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at his residence in San Juan.
Born in Mercedes, Mr. Ortiz had lived in San Juan since 1986. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan.
Mr. Ortiz is survived by his wife, Alicia Ortiz of San Juan; a son, Gerardo (Ana) Ortiz of Garland, TX; a daughter, Angelica (Ricardo) Gonzalez of San Juan; five granddaughters, Nicole, Natalie, Nevaeh, Nya, and Nisabella Gonzalez; three siblings, Josefina Ortiz of Mercedes, Enrique Ortiz of McAllen, and Carmen Moreno of Reedley, CA.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, September 27, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post of Elsa 7473.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
