Maria Teresa "Terry" Ortiz

Maria Teresa Ortiz, 78, who was called "Ama" by her loved ones, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at McAllen Medical Center.
Terry was born June 30, 1944 and was a long time resident of Edinburg. She loved praising God, gardening, playing loteria and spending time with her grandchildren. Ama was loved by many and will always be remembered by her sweet loving smile.
She is preceded in death by her two sons, Reymundo Ortiz, Jr. and Rene R. Ortiz.
Mrs. Ortiz is survived by her five children, Roberto Ortiz, Nicolas (Araceli Hernandez) Ortiz, Rosalinda Ortiz, Jose Ricardo Ortiz, Jeanette (Ismael) Eureste; 29 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
