Graciela Palomo, 78, entered into her eternal life Sunday, May 22, 2022, to rejoin her heavenly family after a long battle with breast cancer. It would be wrong to say Graciela lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. There was no obstacle that could dim her fight. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like because there was no quit in her. She may not have received her victory on Earth, but now she walks in victory amongst the angels and the saints. Graciela was a long-time resident of Alamo and is survived by her husband of 60 years, Miguel Palomo. They shared an enduring love for their family, and always looked forward to gatherings where everyone was united. She is also survived by her four children, Aleida (Eladio) Villarreal, Dr. Annabelle Palomo, Aida Palomo (Rene) Mendoza, Michael (Marisa) Palomo, a brother, Zalatiel Salinas and Audelia Cano (Aunt). Her pride and joy were her five grandchildren, Bobby and Edgar Villarreal, Annika Rodriguez, Michael and Alyssa Palomo. She was also a great grandmother to two great-grandchildren, Landon and Layla Villarreal. In her free time, she loved cooking for her family. Besides her love for her family, she had a special place in her heart for rescue dogs. Her joy was evident every time she was in the company of a furry friend. She often shared with her family her wishes of sending donations towards rescue shelters.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Memorial Service Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Please wear bright colors as requested by Graciela's family. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
