DAVID B. PARDO
SAN JUAN - David B. Pardo, 91, died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at McAllen Heart Hospital.
Born in San Marcos, Texas, Mr. Pardo had lived in San Juan since 1959. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. Mr. Pardo received the American Theater Campaign Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart and Victory Ribbon.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Fortunata Pardo; three brothers and a sister.
Mr. Pardo is survived by his wife, Eloisa Pardo of San Juan; six children, Rafael (Lupe) Pardo, David (Nena) Pardo, Rogelio Pardo, Diana Pardo, all of San Juan, Esthella (Encarnacion) Guajardo and Yolanda (David) Guajardo, both of Port Lavaca, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7pm rosary, today, June 20, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 9:30 am Monday, June 21, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Vetetans Cemetery in Mission. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 101 of Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
