Consuelo C. Peña

CONSUELO C. PEÑA EDINBURG – Consuelo C. Peña, 87, died Sunday, January 25, 2015, at her residence in Edinburg. Born in McAllen, Mrs. Peña had lived in Chicago and Edinburg where she raised her family. She was an active member of the Guadalupanas at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg, as well as a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Chicago. She is preceded in death by her husband, Santos Octaviano Peña. Consuelo is survived by three sons, Jesus Santos (Haydee) Peña, Oscar Peña, both of Edinburg, Noe Cruz (Rebecca) Peña of Donna; five daughters, Elodia Medrano of Chicago, IL, Gloria (Arnoldo) Palacios of San Antonio, TX, Juanita Peña (Carlos Rodriguez) of Chicago, IL, Estella Campos of Edinburg, Neida (Inocencio) Diaz of San Antonio, TX; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beatriz Salazar of Dallas, TX. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
