AMADOR "BLACKIE" PECINA
EDINBURG- Amador "Blackie" Pecina, 74, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg.
Amador was an amazing father and grandfather. Blackie was a man who always put his family first and he was always willing to help out others in need. He was best known as the face of the Echo Hotel, where he had been employed for over 50 years. Mr. Pecina will always be remembered for his character, faith, values and unconditional love for his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Antonia "Toni" R. Pecina; parents, Marcos and Amador Pecina, Sr.; three brothers, Ascension "Chon" Pecina, Eulalio "Lalo" Pecina, Antonio "Toni" Pecina; and a sister, Refugia "Cuca" Gomez.
Blackie is survived by four children, Jose Francisco (Ruby) Beltran, Ana Maria Beltran, Juan Jose (Gene Ruby) Beltran, Laura (Ronnie) Gomez, all of Edinburg; eight grandchildren, Mark Anthony Beltran, Janelle Ayssa Beltran, Juan Jose Beltran, Jr., Andrew Gene Beltran, Rex Allen Beltran, Tristan Michael Gomez, Nicolas J. Gomez, and Atiana Amberly Gomez; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Edinburg.
