AMADEO "MAYITO" PENA
EDINBURG - Amadeo "Mayito" Pena, 92, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.
Born in Falfurrias, Mr. Pena had lived in Edinburg most of his life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Brigida Pena; three children, Olivia Moya Bautista, Olga Ramirez, Arturo Vale; two daughters-in-law, Dolores Pena, Guadalupe Vale; four sons-in-law, Erasmo Trejo, Jesus Ramirez, Ray Longoria and Senon Moya; two brothers; and four sisters.
Mr. Pena is survived by seven children, Ofelia T. Longoria of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jose Joel (Gudelia) Vale of Pharr, Roberto (Irma) Vale of Elsa, Oralia Trejo, Armando (Carmen) Pena, Arnoldo Pena, and Odilia (Hector) Zuniga, all of Edinburg; 48 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Celia Vale of Edinburg.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, today, July 8, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Pallbearers will be Dr. Albert Pena, Mark Gonzalez, Jaime Espinoza, Erasmo Trejo, Jr., Pedro Amadeo Galvan, Carlos Andres Galvan, Jacob Campos and Hector Zuniga, Jr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
