ARMANDINA BARRERA PENA SAN JUAN - Armandina Barrera Pena, 82, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. She was formerly of McAllen and Pharr and was currently a resident of San Juan Nursing Home. Armandina enjoyed playing bingo and couldn't say no to a game of bingo or a trip to Las Vegas. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Adan Barrera; her second husband, Priciliano Peña; three sons, Ricardo Barrera, Adan Barrera Jr., Joel Barrera; two grandsons, Raul Barrera Jr., Ricky Barrera; a sister, Rosita Lopez; and three brothers, Raul Reyes, Ursino Reyes and Dimas Reyes. Ms. Pena is survived by three daughters, Diana (Omar) De Alejandro, of Alamo, Criselda (Raul) Escareño, of Pharr, Maria Alicia Barrera, of Donna; two sons, Raul (Emma) Barrera, of San Juan, Gilberto Barrera, of Dallas; a daughter in law, Guadalupe Barrera, of McAllen; ten grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Graciela Cortinas, of Houston, Yolanda Salinas, of McAllen; and a brother, Orlando Reyes, of Hidalgo. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015, at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
