Baldemar De La "Gordo" Pena Iii

BALDEMAR "GORDO" DE LA PENA, III EDINBURG - Baldemar "Gordo" De La Pena III, 21, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 in Edinburg. Baldemar had lived in Edinburg all of his life. He graduated from Johnny G. Economedes High School in 2010 and was a veteran of the US Army. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Fabian Turrubiartes; and paternal grandfather, Baldemar De La Pena, Sr. Baldemar is survived by his mother, Yolanda De La Pena; father, Baldemar De La Pena, Jr.; a brother, Derick Aaron De La Pena; two sisters, Sammantha Jo De La Pena, Dominique Jay De La Pena; maternal grandmother, Juana Berta Turrubiates; paternal grandmother, Roberta De La Pena; and a niece, Raine Dessa Garza. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Monday, December 30, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Faysville. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Funeral Services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
