McALLEN — Estrella Marks Pena, 80, died Friday, November 18, 2011, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.

Born in Rio Grande City, Mrs. Pena had lived in McAllen for 22 years and was formerly of Brownsville. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in McAllen.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gonzalo Pena.

Mrs. Pena is survived by four children, Anna (Daniel) Parker, of McAllen, Alana (Gerardo) Rico, Alda "Tweety" (Randy) Haas, both of New Braunfels, Texas, Gonzalo "Quito" (Debbie) Pena III, of Brownsville; eight grandchildren, Lawrence Solis, Lisa Williams, Baldemar Torres, Alana Estrella Rico, Gonzalo "Gonzo" Pena IV, Tony Pena, Justin Haas and Tyler Haas; two great-grandchildren, Ania Williams, Araya Williams; and five siblings, Belta Guerra, Adan Marks, Rodolfo Marks, America Conaulty and Ernest Marks.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, November 20, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2011, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Druemont, Leonel Acevedo, Lauro Lopez, The Honorable Kika De La Garza, Eliazar Hinojosa, Greg Kiger and Jesse Gomez.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
