EDINBURG – Linda Michelle Pena, 40, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018, at her residence in Edinburg.
Born in McAllen, Linda had lived in Edinburg most of her life. She was loved and admired by all that knew her, and will be greatly missed. Her distinctive smile was contagious and she was always the life of the party. She showed her family by example what unconditional love is. Family was near and dear to her heart, and home was where she found comfort. Giving to her family, and seeing them smile is what she loved to do. Cancer did not define the person she truly was. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love, prayers and support from family and friends is what carried her through. Even in the last breath of life she proved she wasn’t beaten by ascending into heaven with a smile.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Pena of Edinburg; four children, Ashley Michelle Pena, Breanna Nicole Pena, Casey Danielle Pena, Anthony Jace “AJ” Pena, all of Edinburg; her parents, Israel and Hilda Cantu of Pharr; two siblings, Jennifer Ann Garza and Mark Joshua Cantu; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, February 24, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
