JOE HUMBERTO PEREZ SAN MANUEL – Joe Humberto Perez, 66, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at CHI St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. Joe was born on January 23, 1949 in Los Angeles Ranch and lived in San Manuel all of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy from June 1, 1970 to October 8, 1973. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Leonor Mejia Perez; and his brother, Noe Oscar Perez. He is survived by his sisters, Olga (Juan) Mata of Weslaco, Aida (Andres, Jr.) Zamora of Edinburg, Yolanda (Peter) Haring of San Antonio, his sister-in-law, Graciela De Leon Perez of Edinburg and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at El Rucio Cemetery in San Manuel. Military honors will be conducted by Benito Alaniz VFW Post 7473 of Elsa. Honored to serve as his pallbearers are Joey Zamora, Noe Jr. and Ronnie Perez, Luis Flores Jr., Jaime Flores and Freddie Martinez. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
