MANUELA G. PEREZ ALAMO - Manuela G. Perez, 80, died Friday, January 25, 2013, at her residence in Alamo. Born in Reynosa, Tamps., Mrs. Perez had lived in Alamo since 1970 and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Domingo Perez; and two grandsons, Ernesto Ochoa Jr. and Johnny Rey Castaneda. Mrs. Perez is survived by ten children, Maria Castaneda Ochoa, of Okeechobee, Florida, Juan Antonio (Geneva) Castaneda, of Littlefield, Texas, Armando (Maria) Castaneda, of Amarillo, Texas, Javier (Imelda) Castaneda, of Pharr, Marta Elia Garcia, of San Juan, Domingo (Dulia) Perez Jr., of Dimmitt, Texas, Carolina (Salvador) Perez, of Fort Pierce, Florida, Santos (Enedelia) Perez, of Alamo, Pedro Perez, of Houston and Rosalinda (Cruz) Alvarez, of Alamo; 26 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eustolia Alaniz, of Alamo, Carmen Perez, of Santa Rosa, Rosie Degollado, of San Antonio; and a brother, Pedro Gonzalez, of McAllen. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, January 27, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Amara Hospice for their support and care of their mother. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
