PASTORA MARIA M. PEREZ SAN JUAN – Pastora Maria M. Perez, 82, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at her residence in San Juan. Born in Weslaco, she had lived in San Juan most of her life. Pastora Maria M. Perez was a co-founder of Templo Aposento Alto of San Juan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lauro Perez, Sr., founder of Templo Aposento Alto of San Juan. Pastora Maria M. Perez is survived by her six children, Maria Lucila (Alfonso) Moreno of Pharr, Lauro (Minerva J.) Perez, Jr., of Houston, Nidia (Joel) Davalos of San Juan, Nelda (John) Garza of McAllen, Judy Garcia, Lilia Ann (Isaac) Jasso, both of San Juan; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Concepcion Zavaleta of Pasco, Washington and Antonia Garcia of Indio, California. Visitation will take place from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, at Templo Aposento Alto in San Juan. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
