EDINBURG – Paula B. Perez, 93, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Arbor View Nursing Home in McAllen.
Born in China, N.L., Mexico, Mrs. Perez had lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. She lived life to the fullest yet always put others before herself. Her sincerity, courage and modesty inspired all those around her to be the best they can be. Her faith and courage set her apart and made her an angel. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Geronimo and Teresa Balderas; a brother, Ascencion Balderas; four sisters, Julia Garza, Antonia Garza, Jesusa Villarreal and Tomasa Guzman; and a son-in-law, Reyes Rodriguez.
Mrs. Perez is survived by her husband, Jesus Perez of Edinburg,; six children, Jose Leonel (Julia) Perez, Olga (Jose) Zarate, Ofelia (Arnulfo) Fonseca, Lucia (Benjamin) Salas all of Edinburg, Susie Rodriguez and Lucinda Perez both of Corpus Christi, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Arturo Balderas of Mission.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, today, June 17, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
