RAUL PEREZ Alamo - Raul Perez, 82, passed from this life to the presence of God on October 4, 2012 at Life Care Hospital. He was born in Guardado de Abajo, Tamaulipas, Mexico on Nov. 2, 1929, to Vicente and Clemencia Perez. In 1954, he immigrated to the United States where he started a family and worked as a Foreman with Griffin & Brand & Rio Produce. He spent 56 years supporting his family, teaching his children the value of hard work while stressing the importance of education. Raul loved his family earnestly, cherished his Mexican identity and fought to the end. He spurred each new generation of his family to create a better life for themselves in their pursuit of higher education and dedication to their passions. He is preceded in death by a brother, Hector Perez, Guardado de Abajo, Tamaulipas, Mexico; and two sisters, Romilda Garza, Diaz Ordaz, Tamaulipas, Mexico and Estella Ayala, Donna, TX. Mr. Perez is survived by his wife Consuelo M. Perez, his four children - Jose Iram (Leticia S.)Perez of Angola, Africa, Raul (Carolina G.)Perez, Jr., Cypress, TX, Edgar Luis (Julia C.) Perez, Conroe, TX and Cynthia Perez (Manuel) Ramon, McAllen, TX; ten grandchildren - Jose Iram (Kristan) Perez Jr., Fort Worth, TX, Elissa (Daniel) Ramirez, Wylie, TX, Cristina Jo (Roy) Taylor, Dallas, TX, Esther Marie Perez, Victoria, TX, Jessica Perez, Madrid, Spain, Samuel Perez, Cypress, TX, Stephan (Gabrielle) Perez, Yokosuka, Kanagawa Japan, Amanda Perez, Cypress, TX, Victoria Rose Ramon and Eduardo Manuel Ramon, McAllen, TX; one great grandchild Gavin Perez, Fort Worth, TX; siblings - Octavio Perez, Alamo, TX, Alicia Bazan, Los Angeles, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home located at 311 E. Expressway 83, San Juan, TX, 78589 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary following thereafter at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 8, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at Resurrection Catholic Church Alamo, Texas. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
