SANDRA “SANDIE” PEREZ
EDINBURG – Sandra “Sandie” Perez, 44, was called to the Lord Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Ms. Perez was born in Edinburg and had lived there all of her life. Sandie enjoyed participating in sports and was a great athlete herself. She was a loving and caring mother, daughter, sister and friend who always was there to give a helping hand. She loved music, poetry, fishing and the beach. Sandie loved everyone unconditionally. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her son, Robert Omar Perez; and her mother, Maria Celia Perez.
Ms. Perez is survived by her father, Richard S. Perez Sr. of Edinburg; five brothers, Ricardo (Fela) Perez Jr., Rolando Perez Sr., Luis (Llelissa) Perez, Daniel (Katherine) Perez, and Robert (Veronica) Perez; two sisters, Diana (Jerry) Gulledge and Joanne (David) Pena; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, May 8, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton, in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be sent to the Omar Perez Memorial Scholarship Fund at First National Bank account number 30009820.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
