SAN JUAN — Socorro G. Perez, 89, died Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Amara Hospice Inpatient Facility in Edinburg.
Born in Mission, she had lived in San Juan since 1953 and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bartolo Perez; her parents, Francisco Gutierrez and Celia Cantu; a brother, Gustavo Gutierrez; and a sister, Cidelia Gutierrez.
Socorro is survived by five children, Pedro (Nancy Kersey) Perez of Las Vegas, Jorge Luis Perez of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Benito (Estela) Perez, Gloria (Cesar) Banda, both of Edinburg, Blanca (Cesar) Salgado of Sacramento, California; 12 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Arminda Anaya of General Bravo, Nuevo Leon; and a brother, Guadalupe Gutierrez of Yakima, Washington.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
