SISTER CLARA AMELIA PINEDA
ALAMO – Sister Clara Amelia Pineda, 91, died Thursday, April 19, 2012 at McAllen Nursing Center.
Born in Zirandaro, Guerrero, Mexico, Sister Clara lived in La Feria, Harlingen and Alamo throughout her life. Her religious life began on April 13, 1946. She was and instructor of novices in a congregation in Mexico. Sister Clara often visited the sick in hospitals and at home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Pineda and Altagracia Pineda; six brothers; and seven sisters.
A rosary was held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 9 p.m., today, April 21, 2012, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
