SENAIDA M. PINEDA
SAN JUAN - Senaida Pineda a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, joined our Lord in heaven surrounded by her loving family on June 19, 2009.
She was born in San Patricio, Texas. In 1965 she moved to the Valley with her husband. She was known for her master green thumb. Out of all of things that she enjoyed, it was her family that brought her the most joy. The best gift she gave to her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family was uninterrupted time, love and devotion. Senaida was a very special woman and was loved by all.
Mrs. Pineda is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco Sr. and Carolina Medrano, a daughter, Esmeralda Pineda, a grandson, Joshua Bravo, and a beloved daughter-in-law, Frances Pineda.
She is survived by her loving husband, of 53 years, Jose C. Pineda, Sr., her children: Noelia (Oscar) Salazar, Janie Ray, Rolando (Melba) Pineda, Yolanda (Oscar) Rangel, Jesus (Gloria) Pineda, Freddie (Maria) Pineda, Sophia Pineda, Jose C. Pineda, Jr., Chris (Jaime) Munoz, Rudy Pineda; 8 brothers; 2 sisters, and her best friend Liz Villarreal. She leaves behind a legacy of 29 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
You were the foundation of our family and your strength, wisdom and love touched not only our family, but friends as well. You will be deeply missed and will be forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Monday, June 22, 2009, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Salazar, Gilbert Pineda, Ricky Pineda, Oscar Rangel, Jr., Jesse Pineda, Jr., and Kristopher Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Isaiah Munoz, Jaime Nicolas Garcia, Jose Andres Pineda, and Ayissa Vasquez.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
