ROSA R. PLATA McALLEN — Rosa R. Plata, 86, died, Friday, April 25, 2014 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in Weslaco, she had lived most of her life in McAllen. She is preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Plata; and a daughter, Rosa Isela Flores. Rosa is survived by her four children, Esther Plata (Rene) Valencia of Pharr, Noe (Susana) Plata, Luis (Simona) Plata and Angel Javier Plata all of McAllen; nine grandchildren, Rene Jr., Edgar, Marissa, Johana, Omar, Melvin, Noe Jr., Joel and Laura; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service and 7 p.m. rosary today, April 28, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen. “Mother, thank you for being a wonderful and loving mother, I will always remember your unconditional love, your food and above all your beautiful flowers and plants, you are now my guardian angel, I love you forever”, Angel.
