EDWINO “ED” POBLETE
EDINBURG – Edwino “Ed” Poblete, 56, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 at LifeCare Hospital of South Texas in McAllen.
Born in Naic, Cavite, Republic of Philippines, Mr. Poblete was formerly of Jacsonville, Florida, had lived in Edinburg for the past 7 years and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Edinburg.
He was a veteran of the US Navy and after 25 years of service, retired as a Master Chief.
He is preceded in death by his father, Romeo Poblete; two brothers, Alexander and Joselito Poblete.
Mr. Poblete is survived by his wife, Joy G. Poblete of Edinburg; three children, Alicia Poblete, Carlos Poblete, both of Jacksonville, Florida and Emong Poblete of Edinburg; his mother, Rosario Poblete of McAllen; three bothers, Rodolfo Poblete, Carlos Poblete, both of San Antonio, Texas, Romelito Poblete of McAllen; a sister, Roselyn Goodwin of Foresville, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. chapel service, Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 101 of Pharr. Cremation will take place at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
