NAPOLEON PRUDENCIO

MISSION - Napoleon Prudencio, 79, died Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Amara Hospice Inpatient Facility in Edinburg.

Born in Manila, Philippines, Napoleon lived in Mission since 1979 and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He served ten years in the United States Navy and then ten years in the United States Navy, where he retired as a Tech Sergeant. He was a true patriot, serving during Vietnam.

Napoleon was a loving husband and a persistent and focused individual with a big heart, a great sense of humor, and who enjoyed making others happy. He enjoyed doing carpentry, woodwork, and playing chess. He will be remembered by his favorite phrase, "I'm smart in a dumb way but dumb in a smart way; think about that."

He is preceded in death by his parents, Crispin and Modesta Prudencio; and a sister, Librada Prudencio.
Napoleon is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 43 years, Marilou G. Prudencio; and a sister in law, Lulu Garrett, both of Mission.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, December 10, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the American Border Foundation.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
