DAHLIA PUENTE
EDINBURG – Dahlia Puente, 42, died Sunday, October 10, 2010, at her residence in Edinburg.
She had lived in Edinburg for 24 years and was formerly of Hargill. Dahlia had been employed by Bealls Department Store, Law Office of Aron Pena, and by ECISD. She taught at Jefferson Elementary, Brewster School and was currently a curriculum assistant at E.B. Guerra Elementary. Education was her passion and she was truly a gifted educator. Dahlia touched the lives of many and she will be remembered fondly by her students and colleagues.
She is preceded in death by her father, Roberto Lopez, Sr.
Dahlia is survived by her husband, Daniel Puente; three children, Aaron Daniel Puente, Taylor Danielle Puente and Ryan Thomas Puente; and her mother, Juanita Lopez, all of Edinburg; four siblings, Deyanira Lopez (Richard) Marmolejo, of Harlingen, Roberto (Juani) Lopez Jr., Francisco D. (Leti) Lopez, both of Hargill, Delma Lopez (Lee) Adams, of San Antonio, Texas; and two honorary sisters, Sandra Marie Avila and Lisa Valdez, both of Edinburg.
Visitation will take place from 6 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary Sunday, October 10, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 pm Monday, October 11, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Pallbearers will be Richard Marmolejo, Richie Marmolejo, Michael Marmolejo, Marco Antonio Avila, Arnold Valdez and Julian Puente.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
