RUBEN G. PUENTE
SAN JUAN – Ruben G. Puente, 72, entered eternal rest Monday, November 22, 2021, at Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi Shoreline.
Mr. Puente was a lifelong resident of San Juan and was employed as the Public Works Director for City of Hidalgo until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leandro Sr. and Clara Puente; eight siblings, Felipa Cano, Eusebio Puente, Leandro Puente Jr., Irene Limas, Reyes Puente, Leonila Mendoza, Jose Puente and Gilberto Puente.
Ruben is survived by his wife of 48 years, Norma S. Puente; two daughters, Ruby (Ruben) Uvalle, Roxanne (Michael Ortega) Puente; five grandchildren, Amy Puente, Tiffany Puente, Lori Uvalle, Lisa Uvalle, Logan Cavazos; a great-granddaughter, Amiya Puente; and a brother, Rodrigo Puente.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Friday, November 26, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Memorial service will take place Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
