LEONEL PULIDO ELSA - Leonel Pulido, 67, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. Born in La Palmita Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Mr. Pulido lived in Elsa most of his life. He was a well recognized and respected accordion player in the Tejano industry. He touched many lives with his music and contagious smile. His music and legacy will live on as he was one of the pioneers of Tejano music. Leonel is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Santos and Julia Pulido; three brothers, Jose Pulido, Adelmiro Pulido, Luz Pulido; nephew, Martin Pulido. He is survived by his wife, Nieves Pulido of Elsa; two sons, Leonel (Yesenia) Pulido, Jr. of Edinburg and Leonardo Pulido of Elsa; two daughters, Sonia (Arnoldo) Garza of Edinburg and Sindia (Hector) Reyna of Houston, TX.; three grandchildren; three brothers, Pedro Pulido of Edinburg, Aaron Pulido, Federico Pulido both of California; and a sister, Maria Singleterry of Edinburg. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, June 21, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
