Consuelo "Connie" Quintanilla

CONSUELO "CONNIE" QUINTANILLA MCALLEN - Consuelo "Connie" Quintanilla, 67, was called to be with the Lord peacefully, with her family and loved ones by her side Sunday, June 2, 2013, at her residence in Edinburg. Connie was born to Jose Garza and Blazita Rodriguez in McAllen. Consuelo was a very special mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. We feel a great loss in the passing of our mother and her precious life; but we also have the joy of knowing that because the Lord is our personal Savior, we will see her again. Connie was caring and loving to all who knew her well. She worked for Shepard Walton King Insurance Group (previously Alexander and Alexander Insurance Group) for 20 years before retiring two years ago. She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Quintanilla, Sr.; father, Jose Garza; and brother, Eleazar "Charlie" Garza. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Marcos (Audry) Quintanilla and Manuel (Veronica) Quintanilla, Jr., both; one daughter, Marina (Jesse Gonzalez) Quintanilla; nine grandchildren; her mother, Blazita Garza; siblings, Oscar (Frances) Garza, Jose (Rosa) Garza, Elisa (Claudio) Perez, Celia (Javier) Porras, Rodolfo ( Alicia) Garza, Americo Garza, Eduardo J. (†Lisa) Garza, Rogelio Garza, Hector (Abby) Garza, Gilberto Garza, Rosalinda (†Margarito) Vela; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, June 4, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at El Buen Pastor Lutheran Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. A woman strong in her faith and love for the Lord. Love you mom, you will be greatly missed until we meet again. Thank you to everyone for your support, thoughts, and prayers.
