FLORENCIO CRUZ RAMIREZ, JR. McALLEN – Florencio Cruz Ramirez, Jr., 75, died Monday, November 4, 2013, at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born July 18, 1938 in Agua Nueva, Texas, he had lived there most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Ramirez is preceded in death by his parents, Cesarea and Florencio Cruz Ramirez Sr.; one sister, Luisa Rosa Garza; and a granddaughter, Aimee Fernanda Ramirez. He is survived by his wife, Francisca C. Ramirez of McAllen; four children, Jose Ramirez, Daniel (Melissa) Ramirez, Leah Stella Ramirez, all of McAllen and Florencio Cruz (Kary) Ramirez III of Edinburg; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Leah R. Cantu of San Juan. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, November 5, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 93 of Mission. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
