Gilberto Ramirez

GILBERTO RAMIREZ SAN JUAN - Gilberto Ramirez, 85, died Friday, January 31, 2014, at his residence in San Juan. Born in Roma, Texas, he had lived in San Juan all of his life. He is preceded in death by his wife, Irma S. Ramirez; his parents, Felipe and Estela Ramirez; three brothers and two sisters. Gilberto is survived by 11 children, Rene (Irma) Ramirez, Nora (Jose) Moreno, Gilberto (Teresa) Ramirez, Felipe (Rosa) Ramirez, Javier (Gloria) Ramirez, Orlando (Anita) Ramirez, all of San Juan, Diana (Federico) Guerra, Mario (Alicia) Ramirez, both of McAllen, Benita (Teodoro) Salazar, of Edinburg, Estela (Juan) Rangel, and Julissa (Jose) Cantu, both of Pharr; 46 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, February 3, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
