MANUEL G. RAMIREZ HARGILL — Manuel G. Ramirez, 88, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in La Sara, TX, Manuel resided in Hargill all of his life. Mr. Ramirez was a farmer, citrus grower and enjoyed spending time outdoors on his farm. He loved to spend time with all of his family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Otilia Ramirez; infant son, Juan Manuel Ramirez; parents, Quirino and Margarita Ramirez; three brothers, Guadalupe, Luis and Alonzo Ramirez. Mr. Ramirez is survived by his son, Ruben (Linda) Ramirez, of Cedar Park, TX; two daughters, Maria Alicia (Ramiro) Rubio, of Goliad, TX, and Delia (Baldemar) Molina, of Edinburg; three nieces and two nephews, who he loved as his own children, San Juanita Ramirez, Amelia Lara, both of Elsa, Estela (James) Aaron, of Columbia, SC; Antonio (Lydia) Ramirez, of Hargill and Lorenzo Ramirez, of Edinburg; 11 grandchildren, Ramiro Rubio, Jr., Carlos Rubio, Amanda (Craig) Caka, Veronica (Stephen) Bacica, Manny Molina, Kathryn Ramirez, Rebecca Ramirez, Ryan Ramirez, Barbara (Edgar) Lopez, Tony (Patricia) Ramirez, and Brenda Ramirez; five great-grandchildren; and nine great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, August 24, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday, August 25, 2012 at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Hargill. Interment will follow at Cementerio de la Paz in Hargill. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
