Mary M. Ramirez

MARY M. RAMIREZ EDINBURG –Mary M. Ramirez, 74, went with the Lord peacefully on June 17, 2015, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. She was born in Edinburg and lived there all her life. Her greatest love was children, and she spent most of her life as an elementary school teacher with Pharr, San Juan, Alamo ISD. She is preceded in death by her father, Zenon Alaniz; a sister, Diana (+Arnoldo) Romero; and a brother, Ricardo Alaniz Mrs. Ramirez is survived by her daughters, Marissa (Marko) Alanis of McAllen, Dina (Oscar) Rivera of San Antonio; and the joys of her life, her five grandchildren, Diego Rene, Juliana Cristina, Emilio Oscar, Joaquin Omar, and Carina Celine; her mother, Dolores G. Alaniz; and two brothers, Rene (Lani) Alaniz and Robert (Dina) Alaniz all of Edinburg. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, June 19, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
