ALBERTO RAMOS SR.
EDINBURG – Alberto Ramos Sr., 68, died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in La Palmita, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Mr. Ramos immigrated to Edinburg, where he lived the rest of life. Mr. Ramos was extremely committed to having his five children earn a higher education, and his lifelong dream of seeing all his children earn college degrees was fulfilled. Mr. Ramos dedicated the last 30 years of his life to faithful attendance and devotion to the United Pentecostal Church in McAllen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Esteban and Maria Isabel Ramos; two brothers, Matias Ramos Sr. and Esteban Ramos Jr.; two sisters, Maria Antonia Leal and Maria Guadalupe Ramos.
Mr. Ramos is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Ofelia (Garza) Ramos of Edinburg, five children, Thelma (Carlos Ramirez) Ramos of McAllen, Susie Lerma of Mission, Mindy Ramos, Carlos Alberto Ramos and Alberto (Yuri) Ramos Jr. all of Edinburg; three grandchildren, Jesse Lerma III of Mission, Alberto Ramos III and Sofia Isabella Ramos both of Edinburg; three sisters, Maria de la Luz Ramos, Maria del Refugio Garza, Maria Catarina Ramos; a brother, Guadalupe Ramos all of Edinburg.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 pm, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, today, November 15, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
