Gilberto X. Ramos, 82, entered eternal rest Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at The Bridges in Mission.
Mr. Ramos was a life-long resident of Pharr. He served in the United States Army and the National Guard. Gilbert was employed by Coca Cola for 35 years.
He is preceded in death by two sisters, Maria Alicia Cantu and Maria Guadalupe Palacios.
Gilbert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alicia G. Ramos of Pharr; four children, Alma I. (Gerald) Lane of Austin, Patricia A. Garza of Alamo, Melinda A. Dill of Katy, Ricardo (Linda) Ramos of McAllen; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ruben (Irma +) Ramos; a sister, Rosa (Juan +) Almanza, and brother in law, Polo Palacios, all of Pharr.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., with a 9:30 a.m. memorial service Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 7473 of Elsa.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
