IRMA PALACIOS RAMOS
PHARR/SAN ANTONIO - Irma P. Ramos entered peacefully into eternal rest on November 29, 2009 at her home in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by her family, after a long battle with ovarian cancer.
Irma, 69, was born in Pharr, Texas on July 18, 1940 to Leopoldo Palacios and Lilia Farias Palacios.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Belia Palacios in 1962 and Dora P. Alva in 2006.
Mrs. Ramos is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Ruben Ramos, Sr. of San Antonio, Texas; her beloved sons, Ruben, Jr. (Rhonda) of Mission, Texas, Jose Raul (Ruby) of Loveland, Ohio, Carlos (Emma) and Rolando (Liza) both of San Antonio, Texas. Also surviving are the love of her life, grandchildren: Dr. Khara M. Ramos (Jeff) LaMarche of Boulder, Colorado, Christopher Jordan Ramos and Kelly Nicole Ramos both of Columbus, Ohio, Katy Michele Ramos of Loveland, Ohio, Heather Guzman of San Antonio, Texas, Kristian Guzman (Aaron) Gardner of Mission, Texas, Michael Anthony Ramos, Adan Ruben Ramos, Rene Javier Ramos, and Annaliese Ramos of San Antonio, Texas; great grandson Taylor Guzman of Mission, Texas; her loving brothers Leo “Polo” (Bebe) Palacios, Artemio (Cuca) Palacios both of Pharr, Hector “Tito” (Berta) Palacios of San Juan, Oscar (Viola) Palacios of Pharr; brothers-in-law Lionel Alva of McAllen and Gilberto Xavier (Alicia) Ramos of Pharr; and many nieces and nephews.
Irma lived for her family. She was a loving daughter, taking great care of her parents. She was a most devoted wife to her husband and a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
