PHARR - Antonio Rangel, 84, died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at his residence in Pharr.
Born in Pinos, Zacatecas, Mexico, Mr. Rangel had lived in Pharr all of his life and was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Pharr.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Juana Rangel; a son, Javier Rangel; a daughter, Encarnacion Rangel; and his parents, Geronimo Rangel and Encarnacion Lopez.
Mr. Rangel is survived by a son, Ever (Brenda) Rangel of Danville, Illinois; four daughters, Maria (Angel) Garza, Graciela (Juan) Valenciano, both of Danville, Illinois, Natividad (Ricardo) Gonzalez of Pharr and Martha (Ruben) Jaramillo of Alamo; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 6 pm prayer service and a 7 pm rosary, today, June 8, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 11 am, Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
