Maria Romana Garza Rangel

MARIA ROMANA GARZA RANGEL MCALLEN – Maria Romana Garza Rangel, 84, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Elsa, she had lived in McAllen the last seven years, and was formerly of Edinburg. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Rangel, Jr.; and a grandson, Michael Rangel. Mrs. Rangel is survived by her seven children, Frank (Juanita) Rangel of Edinburg, Danny (Ann) Rangel of Huntsville, Texas, Santos (Maria Elena) Rangel of Donna, Mary (Lamie) Dominguez of McAllen, Ruben Rangel, Noe Rangel, both of Edinburg, and Robert (Maggie) Rangel of McAllen; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight siblings, Valentina Garza of Elsa, Johnny Garza of Arlington, Texas, Pat Garza, Stanley Garza both of Dallas, Texas, Gabriel Garza, of Lewisville, Texas, Butch Garza, Elisa Malleis both of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Herman Garza of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
